Step 5
Attend Your Fingerprint Appointment
Prepare every document below, print what needs printing, and go to your Cita Previa appointment. You will submit paperwork, provide fingerprints and a photo, and receive a resguardo (receipt) with pickup instructions.
Why is this step needed?
Police verify your identity in person, capture biometrics, and accept your application. Missing documents usually means rescheduling.
Estimated time
- At the station
- 30–60 minutes
- After
- Resguardo issued on the spot
Requirements
Signed EX-17 form
You confirmed the EX-17 in VisaMesa in Step 2. Print it, sign where indicated, and bring the signed copy — it is not stored in the app after printing.
Paid Modelo 790 (stamped receipt)
This is the physical receipt the bank stamps when you pay in Step 4. VisaMesa cannot view or share it — make sure you have that stamped copy with you.
Original passport
Your original passport — keep it with you, not a copy.
Passport photocopies
Make copies at home, at a copy shop (copistería), or at many print kiosks. Bring both the photo page and the visa or entry-stamp page.
Student visa or long-stay authorization
The visa sticker or authorization in your passport from your home-country consulate.
Empadronamiento certificate
The volante or certificado de empadronamiento you received at the Ayuntamiento in Step 1.
Passport-style photos
Get them at a photo booth (foto máquina), copy shop, or photographer if you do not already have compliant photos.
Cita Previa confirmation
The confirmation email from Cita Previa after you booked in Step 3 — it shows the police office, date, and time. Print it or show it on your phone.
Print all documents
Use a copy shop if you do not have a printer. Organise everything in a folder before you leave.
Attend your appointment
Arrive early with all documents and your original passport. After fingerprints and review, you receive a resguardo — keep it safe for Step 6.
